Join a regional group

The Swiss RJ Forum currently has over 100 members in all three language regions. The statutes of the Swiss RJ Forum provide a basis for the formation of regional groups, which may organise themselves as independent associations while its members remain at the same time members of the Forum.

  • Groups in 3 regions

  • Free RJ-related events

RJustice

Members of the Forum from Italian-speaking Switzerland run a regional group called RJustice, which is active in Ticino. This  group aims to spread the culture of restorative justice and to achieve this, RJustice:

  • Regularly organises free public events at the University of Lugano

  • Runs once a year courses for offenders preparing for conditional release

  • Meets regularly to train its members in areas of restorative justice.

People based in the South of Switzerland have the opportunity to join our regional group in Ticino. RJustice is growing rapidly, counting 40 members at present.

Members meet every month to discuss various restorative justice-related topics and organisational matters on top of the above mentioned activities.

The Swiss RJ Forum is expanding

Due to the growing interest in restorative justice and the increasing demand for RJ processes across Switzerland, the Forum needs support from regional groups in all linguistic regions.

Consequently, the Forum plans to set up regional groups in 2024 in the French- and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. These new groups can use the experience of RJustice and become active in their respective language regions.

The objectives of the new regional groups would include:

  • Organising events in the region on topics related to restorative justice

  • Exchanging information on and experiences with restorative justice between members

  • Providing and taking training opportunities in restorative justice

  • Carrying out restorative justice projects in the region.
